Cycling
Located just outside of Arbroath we are ideally situated in the heart of Angus with opportunities for cycling and walking in all directions.
Everybody’s ability is different so we’ve done our best to provide something for everyone below.
Our cottage is well set up to accommodate cycling and walking groups; with a wash bay located outdoors for cleaning up dirty bikes and footwear as well as plenty of space for storing equipment overnight.
Road Cycling Routes in Angus
The roads around Angus are in fairly good condition albeit a few potholes here and there! The variety of roads means that there is something for everyone whether you’re just looking for a gentle cycle down to Monikie Country Park, or looking for something to get your teeth into such as the Deeside loop taking in the Cairn O’Mount.
From our farm, near Arbroath you can navigate along quiet country roads avoiding the heavy traffic in most directions taking in stunning viewpoints and tempting coffee stops!
We’ve outlined some routes that you can do from our doorstep below, but Visit Angus also have some popular routes detailed on their website.
Mountain Biking Routes in Angus
With the Angus Glens including Glen Doll, and Glen Clova only a short drive away many mountain biking enthusiasts will be drawn in that direction for a day trip exploring. There are however some fantastic forest trails around Arbroath and Forfar too allowing you to get your taste for dirt without having to load the bikes onto the car.

Walking
Coastal walks, Munro bagging, forest trails or gentle farm strolls there is something for everyone here in Angus.
The weather can vary hugely from coast to Glen though so it’s worthwhile seeing where is seeing the best of it on the MET office (https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/), before heading out on foot!
Walk Highlands have put together a series of walks around the area outlined on the links below. They vary in length from an hours escape upto a day’s adventure and we’re pulling together some farm walks just now which we can provide on arrival.
